Fred's career was a remarkable journey that saw him contribute significantly to the infrastructure of the western United States. With the Bureau of Reclamation, he devoted himself to building hydroelectric dams—a testament to his commitment to engineering and sustainable resources. His educational path was equally commendable; he earned a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder, utilizing the GI Bill after his service in the US National Guard, where he was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.
